Who we are
Fishkeeping.io is an independent aquarium care blog. For any privacy question, or to exercise
any of the rights described below, contact us at ali.kamran188@gmail.com.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Comments. If you leave a comment we store the name, email address and
comment text you submit, along with your IP address and browser user agent. This is used
for spam detection and to display your comment. - Newsletter. If you subscribe, we store the email address you provide on our
own server and use it only to send the newsletter. We do not pass it to a third-party mailing
service. Every email includes an unsubscribe link. - Contact messages. If you email us, we keep the message so we can reply
and so we can act on corrections.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our server records standard technical information such as IP address,
browser type, referring page, and the pages you visit. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand
which guides are useful and which need rewriting. Google Analytics sets cookies and processes this
data on our behalf; see Google’s
privacy policy for how it handles the information. We do not attempt to identify individual
readers from this data.
Cookies
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. This site uses them to remember your comment
details so you do not have to retype them, and Google Analytics uses them to measure traffic. Our
cookie policy explains this in more detail and tells you how to
control or delete them. Google AdSense also sets advertising cookies; the Advertising section below and our
cookie policy describe them and your opt-out options.
Advertising
This site uses Google AdSense to display advertising. Third-party vendors, including Google,
use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site or to other websites. Google’s
use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits
to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
Serving those ads means that third parties, including Google, may place and read cookies on
your browser, or use web beacons and IP addresses to collect information about how the ads
perform. For a full explanation of what Google collects on sites like this one and how it is
used, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting
Google Ads
Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising
at www.aboutads.info.
See how
Google uses advertising cookies for details. Our cookie policy
lists the cookies involved.
Affiliate links
This site does not use affiliate links. We earn no commission when you buy a product we mention,
and we take no payment for reviews or placements. If that ever changes, we will disclose it here
and in our disclaimer before any such link goes live.
How to withdraw consent
You can opt out of Google Analytics at any time by installing the
Google
Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by blocking or deleting cookies in your browser. Doing so
does not stop you from reading the site.
How long we keep data
Comments and their metadata are retained indefinitely so that follow-up comments can be
recognized and approved automatically. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe.
Contact messages are kept while they remain relevant and then deleted.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- request a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- ask us to correct inaccurate data;
- ask us to delete your data, including any comments you have left;
- object to processing, or opt out of analytics cookies;
- opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, where applicable.
To make any of these requests, email ali.kamran188@gmail.com. We will not charge you for
this and we will not penalize you for asking.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal
information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and
we will delete it.
Third-party links
Our guides link to other websites. Once you follow a link away from this site, this policy no
longer applies. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of other sites.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes
will be noted on the site.
